In order to be able to use the token ring interfaces in the lab it was necessary to attach adapters to the DB9 connectors to convert them to RJ45 connectors. The adapters (DB9 male to RJ45 female) were built from kits that allowed any pin connections. In the kits the wires were connected to the RJ45 pins and the DB9 pins as follows:
pin 1 - white pin 2 - brown pin 3 - yellow -> DB9 pin 9 pin 4 - green -> DB9 pin 6 pin 5 - red -> DB9 pin 1 pin 6 - black -> DB9 pin 5 pin 7 - orange pin 8 - blue
